<p align="justify">Slam Dunk is a 31-volume Japanese manga series written by Takehiko Inoue about a basketball team from Shohoku (Shōhoku) High School. It has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.</p>
<p align="justify">It was so popular that many Japanese teenagers began playing basketball after it was published. Inoue has also uses basketball as a central theme in two other manga series: Buzzer Beater and Real.</p>
<p align="justify">A 101-episode anime TV series was produced, as well as four animated movies. The anime follows the manga storyline, but leaves out the final games at the National Tournament. The animated movies are separate stand-alone stories.</p>
<p align="justify">Plot</p>
<p align="justify">The main character of this manga is Hanamichi Sakuragi who started out as an outcast who fights as a method to gain power and publicity, becoming the leader of a gang. Hanamichi, being very unpopular with girls, has been rejected by them fifty times. Yet, he finds out that Haruko Akagi is the girl of his dreams. Haruko, who recognizes Hanamichi's athleticism, introduces Hanamichi to the Shohoku basketball team. Hanamichi was reluctant to join the team at first because he had no previous background in any sports and thought that basketball was a game for losers (actually because the fiftieth girl rejected him for a basketball player). Sakuragi, despite his immaturity and hot temper, proves to be a natural athlete with potential and joins the team in order to impress Haruko to prove that he is worthy of her. Kaede Rukawa, also Sakuragi's bitter rival (both on the basketball court and love), the star rookie and a "girl magnet", joins the team at the same time. Hisashi Mitsui, an ex-junior high school MVP, and Ryota Miyagi, a short but fast player, both also rejoin the team and together these four struggle to complete team captain Takenori Akagi's dream of making Shohoku the national champion. Together, these misfits gain publicity and the once little known Shohoku basketball team becomes an all-star contender in Japan.</p>

<p align="justify">He is the vice captain of the shohoku basketball club. You can always see him encouraging his team mates especially Hanamichi Sakuragi. During his junior years he joined the basketball club just for experience and to strengthen his body but after a game which they badly loss he decided to pursue basketball 'till highschool and his perception regarding basketball gradually change. Now as the vice captain of the Shohoku Basketball Club he make sure that everyone is okay and out of trouble. Especially if your teamates are trouble makers. He is called four-eyes by Sakuragi in the series. But in the Philippines he is called "Boy Labo" by Sakuragi and his special force. But wait as the saying says dont judge a book by its cover.... Looks can be deceiving.... Kogure might not have the power and stamina just like the first five but his three point shots are the best. Because of his last minute three point shot Shohoku won against Ryonan. Big TIME!. Oh btw he is really cute when he doesnt wear his eye glasses.</p>
<p>of course there is also sendoh, maki, fujima, coach anzai... and a lot more.... masyado silang marami kaya ung mga characters na lang na madalas na napapanood k...</p>

<p align="justify"> slam dunk is one of the most popular anime in the philippines... i remember seeing the opening song of this anime in abc 5 but ignored it... but when it was shown in gma 7 i was one of those viewers who fell head over heals for kaede rukawa... who constantly laugh whenever hanamichi sakuragi gets slap by ayako's trusty fan or a head butt from gori este akagi... or a failed shot.... for me kahit ilang beses pa itong ireplay papanoorin at papanoorin ko pa rin ang anime na ito... ewan ko ba kung bakit gustong gusto ko ang anime na ito.... alam ko nakakabitin ung sa anime pero kung binasa niyo ung series sa manga hanggang interhigh un... maganda ang mga naging laban ng shohoku team lumabas ang tunay na kakayahan ng bawat isa... si mitsui kahit na pagod na pagod na tira pa rin ng tira ng mga three point shot si gori inamin niya sa kanyang sarili na may mga manlalarong mas magaling pa sa kanya... maganda rin ang kanyang performance ung mga signature moves niya flyswatter eh nagpakita... si Miyagi ang galing niya pinatunayan niya na height doesn't matter sa larong ito... ang taas ng mga kalaban niya pero nalalampaso niya pa ang mga ito... si Rukawa lalo pa siyang gumaling pero sa wakas natuklasan niya na rin ang kahalagahan ng team work sa isang team.... pinapasa niya na ung bola... sa last seconds ng laro nila sa Sannoh pinasa niya ung bola kay Sakuragi!! At si Sakuragi siya ang bida!!! Lumabas ang kagalingan niya sa paglaro ng basketball... At na-realize niya na gusto niya na love niya na ang larong basketball... dito kahanga-hanga siya kasi kahit na may injury pa siya hindi niya ito pinansin at naglaro pa rin siya... sa huli natalo nila ang number one sa buong japan ang Sannoh pero sa sumunod nilang laban natalo sila sapagkat pagod pa sila at kulang sa man power... nasa rehabilitation center si sakuragi.... that summer... habang sina kogure at akagi ay nag-aaral na para sa entrance exam... si mitsui naman eh maglalaro pa hanggang winter... si ryota ang bagong team captain... si ayako ang manager at si haruko ang assistant manager... si rukawa hayun nasa all japan team.... at si sakuragi... hayun nga nagpapagaling... pero magbabalik siya sa sports na natutunan niya ng mahalin.... </p>

<p align="justify">well ilang araw na ba akong hindi nagbloblog.... may isang dekada na rin cguro.... masyado akong busy sa mga nakaraang araw at sa week na ito... heto lamang ang oras ng katahimikan dito sa bahay namin.... gumarduate na ang ate ko... AB Psychology ang course niya.... ang best friend niya ay magna cum laude.... siya okay naman ung mga grades niya hindi siya bagsak.... well ung graduation nila madali lang..... after the graduation picture picture.... hehehehe.... ang gulo... well that day sa totoo lang ang nainis ako..... ang gulong kausap ng nanay ko di ko alam kung saan ba talaga kami kakain.... sa huli napunta kami sa jollibee.... umuwi ang mga kamag-anak namin dito sa pampanga... taga pasig sila para mapanood nga ang ate ko... at isa lang ang masasabi ko ang aarte nila..... gusto nila lahat ng puntahan nila may air con... kahapon naman eh ung handaan.... maraming bisita syempre.... nandiyan ang mga klasmeyt ng ate ko at ung teacher nila.... satingin ko mamiss ko din sila kahit papaano lalo na ung mga kagrupo niya sa thesis... kasi nasanay na ko na nandito sila sa bhay at natutulog.... makikita mo sila sa iba't ibang sulok ng bahay namin at natutulog.... nakakausap ko din sila tungkol sa mga assignments ko at tinutulungan naman nila ako... ang bait nila sa akin.... ung mga kaibigan ng ate ko... nakaksundo ko sila lahat.... kahit na hindi ko sila kaedad eh kaya kong makihalobilo sa kanila.... </p>

Super ang ganda ng story.... well kung nabasa mo ung THE DA VINCI CODE.... sigurado akong may suspetsa ka na kaagad kung sino ang salarin kaso sa huli mapapahiya ung hula mo!! LANGYA!!!! Super ang galing nung twist hindi mo akalain na siya pala yung kontrabida... wow... the moment i started to read the book i cannot put it down!!! <hr />nanonood din ako ng isang napaka Astig na anime ngaun at grabe wow super ang ganda niya talaga!!! matagal ko ng naririnig ang anime na ito... hindi ko lang pinapansin... at dahil na rin sa hectic ang sked ko... dahil ngaun ang dami ko ng freetime i decided to download it... grabe ang ganda niya talaga!!! Ang LLLLUUUUUPPPPPEEEETTTTTTT TALAGA NG BLEACH!!! super to the max ang ganda ng bleach... <hr />this week na ang huling linggo ng encantadia... sa totoo lang heto ang kauna-unahang palabas na gawa ng pinoy ang sinubaybayan ko... humanga... nagandahan.... kinilig.... ako sa istorya ng encantadia.... dito nagustuhan ko ang bawat tauhan.... pero ang pinakapaborito ko sa lahat ay si amihan... gusto ko ang character niya at dahil na rin sa napakamagandang portrayal ni iza calzado bilang amihan... heto ang isang uri ng palabas at kwento na inantabayanan namin ng aking kaibigan pinag-usapan kung ano ang mga susunod na mangyayari... heto sa palabas din na ito hindi ko makakalimutan na ako ay ------ sa bus.... habang kami ay papauwi mula sa enchanted kingdom kami ay nakatutok sa pagtatapos ng encantadia ang unang aklat... alam mo makikita mo na mayroon kaung pagkakapareho ng hilig ng mga kaklase mo... hehehehe... this show is something that will be remembered by everyone... i will surely miss this show... </p>

the Da Vinci Code (the movie) banned???
<p align="justify">The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is an intriguing story that will surely start you questioning about Christianity. And definitely a lot of conservatives will protest against such anti-Christ story. Especially if you are living in a country whose most of its population are Catholics. Categorically many personalities will oppose to the showing of this movie to the big screen. </p>
<p align="justify">Starring Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks along with Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Audrey Tatou, is a movie adaptation of the world renowned book of Dan Brown entitled "THE DA VINCI CODE" directed by Ron Howard. </p>
<p align="justify">The story began when Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a Harvard symbologist, was being questioned about the death of a famous curator named Jacques Sanuire in Louvre. As events started to unfold he is now on his way for the adventure of his life along with the stunning Sophie Neveu. </p>
<p align="justify">This upcoming May 18, is the opening or premiere of the said movie across Asia. </p>
<p align="justify">Here in the Philippines the advance selling of tickets or reservations in the cinemas were stopped because it was not yet rated by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). That was of course understandble, "we don't know yet if the film is rated x or pg or what. And there will be a possibilty that this movie will not be shown in the cinemas," said Ma. Consoliza Laguardia the chairwoman of MTRCB.</p>
<p align="justify">On Wednesday one of President Arroyo's top official calls for the banning of The Da Vinci Code in the Philippines. </p>
<p align="justify">"I think we should do everything not to allow it to be shown," said Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.</p>
<p align="justify">"I don't see how we as a Catholic nation or as practicing Catholics would ever tolerate such a plot to be propagated in the name of freedom of expression." </p>
<p align="justify">As we all know the book had initiate the debates among scholars in the world, particularly whose religion are Catholic. This book sure has a great impact among those who believe that Jesus didn't get married, didn't have any kids at all. They will start to question their own faith. However, it is up to its readers if they will believe such stories of course. </p>
<p align="justify">I, myself is a Catholic and I have read the book as well. When I read the book I was not thinking should I change my religion to Protestantism, etc. I said to myself, "So what if Jesus married Mary Magdalene and have children... I guess it's not that bad at all. It only proves that He really did become a person a human for us. He expercience the life what a norman human being can have..."</p>
<p align="justify">People who find this story blasphemous are what I call close-minded people. They should realized that its just a fictional story, for entertainment. <em>Ano ba gawa-gawa niya lang po un!!</em></p>
<p align="justify">In the end, I just hope that this movie will not be ban here in the Philippines. </p>

Is the Da Vince Code that controversial???
Dan Brown's book entitled The Da Vinci Code is the hottest topic for me here in the Philippines next to a typhoon. I wasn't aware of Dan Brown's works until late 2005, I was not fully aware of what it contains aside from that fact that it claims that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had kids. So out of curiosity and the fact that it will be shown in the big screen is that I wanted to read the book. Until last March my wish was finally granted I was able to read the book. I was amazed on how Brown can think such a think and the anagrams were so cool. I cannot stop reading the novel. I cannot put it down. After reading the book I asked myself a lot of questions regarding my faith. If what its claim is real? If I should believe it?
In the end, I told myself that The Da Vinci Code is a superb story that will surely start you thinking once again. It was something… And regarding my faith…. “The book is great *‘Tay, but you know what. Nobody can change my faith/belief by simply reading a book.”

As I watch the news for the past couple of days I eagerly wait for the decision of the MTRCB regarding The Da Vinci Code. I remember Laguardia that within just 2 hours your faith will change and besides it is up to you if you will believe such story. And the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is not blocking the showing of the movie in the Philippines.
However, CBCP spokesman Monsignor Pedro Quitorio said the CBCP is warning the public of the possible negative effects of reading the best-selling novel that inspired the film.
"For now, CBCP perceives [The Da Vinci Code] as a novel, although we are warning our viewers or readers on how the book could affect them but there are no moves to block [the movie]," Quitorio said.
He added: "It's fiction. We don't believe that it would bring bad influence to the faithful."

Da Vinci Code is R-18 (for adults only)
I am happy to say that the Da Vinci Code will be shown here in the Philippines. However, it was rated R by the MTRCB which means only adults can watch the film.
A lot of conservative personalities around the Philippines had tried in their best efforts to banned the film in the country. Do they even know what the movie is all about? There are people who criticize the movie and novel when they haven't read the book yet. So my advice to those who are criticizing the movie already read the book first.
Our very own Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales the Archbishop of Manila thinks that the Catholics are open-minded and will not be easily affected. And said that we should talk about the true story of Jesus' life to figth against the said movie.

I would like to say this once again if you haven't read the book yet and your critcizing it already saying things like its blasphemous then read it. And if you get easily affected by the movie or even the film then it only proves that you simply LACK FAITH!!!! You should know the difference with fiction and non-fiction....

this past few days i've been having a bleach marathon!!! wehehehe... maybe someday i might blog about bleach... and i'm happy... coz' i just found out that gsd will be shown this june... subbed in english... i will surely be weirded out due to the fact that i have watched it with subtitles... i can here their japanese voices and all... blah blah blah...
